What Is Wincher?
Wincher brands itself as ranking software for SEO professionals. But as you’ll discover, it can do more for your search engine optimization than just keep track of your progress.
But outside of its features, what makes it most appealing is its pricing structure.
The amount you pay every month will depend on how many websites you want to track. That makes the Wincher rank tracker a great value for a business owner who’s just starting out.
Here’s what you get with your Wincher subscription.
Wincher’s most prominent feature is its keyword rank tracker. You can see your SERP rankings over the last few days, months, or years. It’ll tell you how your pages on search results have improved or declined. You can see your average position. You’ll know the average traffic a keyword brings in.
You can also monitor your website’s performance in different locations like the United States, United Kingdom, and others.
All of this information can help you decide which direction you should take your digital marketing campaign.
Wincher will bring up all of the keywords that your pages rank for. Or you can add keywords manually and have Wincher prioritize those terms instead.
There are helpful filters you can use to manage all the keyword entries.
The Pages feature is there to show you which pages on your site rank for the most keywords.
You’ll see how many keywords the page ranks for, the average position, total volume, and other data that lets you assess the value of each entry in the list.
If you want to compare your SERP performance against your biggest rivals, then you should add them to Competitors.
Reporting lets you set the information you want to receive from Wincher and how often you want it to do so.
How to Use Wincher
Signing up for a Wincher account is really easy. You can even sign up for a free trial that won’t require your credit card information. All you’ll need is to enter your domain and email address, confirm your subscription via email, and then provide your name and password.
Once that’s done you’ll have access to the Wincher dashboard. From here, you can do lots of things.
Step #1: Complete the Onboarding Process
The onboarding process does two things. First, it gives Wincher a starting point. To finish the onboarding, all you need to do is give Wincher five target keywords (and select which three are the most important), add a competitor, and use the keyword research tool.
Second, it gives you 90% off on your first month. That’s a great deal so you should definitely take advantage of it.
Step #2: Inspect the Dashboard
The dashboard holds a lot of ranking information about your domain. After you first log in, it will show your ranking data. But after you add keywords and competitors, you can use the filter options to refine the results.
Here are descriptions of the metrics displayed.
- Position Changes — Shows you the number of positions that your domain lost or gained during the day.
- Average Position — Gives you the average position of all your pages based on the keywords you provided.
- Traffic — Tells you the number of clicks per month that a page gets for the selected keyword.
- First Positions — Lets you know how many of your pages are in the number one position in the SERPs.
Just below the ranking data are your keywords. This section will inform you on which of your pages rank for your target keywords alongside other metrics:
- Features — Tells you if they show up in images, shopping results, featured snippet, or other areas outside of the top 10 results.
- Position — Gives you the SERP position of the page.
- Change — Displays the number of places the page moved up or down the SERPs during the data period you set.
- CPC (Cost Per Click) — Tells you the estimated bid in Google Adwords.
- Volume — Gives you the estimated volume of the keyword.
- Traffic — Gives you the estimated clicks per month that the selected keyword.
The dashboard is also where you manage your keywords. If you already added keywords (either through the dashboard or using Keyword Research), you can tick the star icon right beside each term. This will mark them as Important.
Important keywords will now appear as its own keyword group for easier access.
You can save your filter setting as a default option so you won’t have to reset the filters each time you log into Wincher.
The Add Keyword button lets you add your own list of terms and phrases to the list. You can add keywords manually or by uploading a CSV or TXT file.
Step #3: Use the Keyword Research Tool
Wincher’s Keyword Research feature works a bit differently from your average keyword research tool.
For starters, adding a keyword using the Keyword Research tool does not mean you get to set your seed keyword. Here, adding keywords means selecting terms from a list that Wincher thinks are relevant to your domain.
Note: You can add your own list of keywords through the Add Keyword button on the dashboard.
You can use the filter options to narrow down your list. Aside from the previously mentioned metrics, you’ll also find a new one called Seen. This tells you if your page appeared in the SERP for the selected keyword. And if it did, Seen tells you where it shows up (top 10, top 20, etc.).
You can filter the results based on Seen, Words, Search Volume, and Competition. Or you can enter a specific word or phrase that you want included in a keyword.
If you want to add a keyword to your list, you only need to click the green Add button over to the right side of the results.
Step #4: Check Your Pages Data
Pages shows you all the pages that rank for your list of keywords. You can use the filter options to only show terms that are important to you.
However, seeing the entire list might reveal opportunities that you didn’t realize existed.
Wincher shows you the best keyword that a page ranks for. If there’s only one, then the lone keyword it ranks for is the default entry. But if there’s more, use the information under the Keywords column to reveal all the keywords.
This will trigger a pop-up box to appear that contains all the keywords that the selected page ranks for along with some relevant data.
Step #5: Add Your Competitors
Adding a competitor tells you straight away if you’re anywhere near your rivals in the SERPs.
Again, you can use your list of important keywords as basis. But you can also compare domains using all the keywords that Wincher found.
One thing to note though. There’s a chance that Wincher will populate your keyword research results with branded keywords. In the example above, Wincher pulls ahead of Ahrefs and SEMrush in average position, traffic, and position summary. But that’s because most of the keywords used to compare include the word Wincher. So naturally, its competitors are less likely to rank for it.
Keyword lists like this will skew the results. So exercise caution. Or just upload your own list of keywords.
Step #6: Set Your Reporting Options
The Reporting feature is quite straightforward. You can set how often Wincher sends its reports to your email and what information to include.
You can then download a preview of the report and make tweaks as needed.
Aside from Reporting, there are other features you might want to look into. You have Notifications and Annotations.
Notifications is where you can set alerts that you can have Wincher send to your email, Facebook, and Twitter account.
Annotations is a feature that allows you to make notes that’ll have an impact on your ranking data. For example, if a page of yours got a backlink from a high-authority site, then you’d want to make a note of that event.
Step # 7: Optimize Pages Using the On-Page SEO Tool
To help you get the most out of your ranking pages, use Wincher’s free on-page SEO tool to determine how optimized your pages are according to the best on-page practices.
From the Pages page, hover over the SEO score of the page to make the floating window appear. From here, click on Go to Reports.
On the next page, you will see opportunities on how you can increase its SEO score which may correlate to its currently position on SERPs.
The idea here is that, the higher the score, the higher your ranking for that keyword should be. Keep in mind that these suggestions won’t produce surefire results. But it’s still in your best interest to observe these practices in an effort to hike up your keyword positions for your target keywords.
BONUS: Install WordPress Plugin
If you’re using WordPress for your site or blog, you can install the plugin and perform your keyword tracking from there.
The Wincher keyword tracker plugin is available to users for free. However, they can only monitor up to 10 keywords and 7 days worth of ranking history.

Con: Wincher Has Limited Features
Wincher is a rank tracking software. And while there are other minor features, that’s pretty much all it does. So if you’re looking for an SEO tool that does more, this isn’t for you.
