And as you dive deeper into the entries, you’ll find metrics that can help determine the quality of Moz’s suggestions. You get to see their monthly volume, keyword difficulty, organic CTR, priority, among others.
The Organic CTR metric, in particular, is worth focusing on. Why? Because it measures how many clicks pages get based on your target keyword. That way, you’d know which keywords are worth optimizing for.
This feature can also track your competitor’s target keywords. Just enter the domain of your rivals’ domains and Moz will compare your domain with theirs. Now you’ll get to see which one of you dominates the SERPs or specific words or phrases.
Where do your pages show up in the SERPs? Are you ranking higher or lower than your competitors?

Each page gets an overall score which lets you know how optimized it is at the moment. As you scroll down the results, you’ll find a list of recommendations on how you could boost your score.
All the fixes you need to make are there. Moz even categorizes these errors based on which fixes are critical and which ones you could address at a later time.
The Content Suggestions tab presents some suggestions on which topics you should include on your post based on pages that rank for the target keyword.
Spending time on developing quality content would not benefit you if you don’t get backlinks from reputable domains.

And the thing about Yoast is that it really doesn’t set out to compete against other SEO tools. For one thing, Yoast is free. Anyone can install the plugin although Yoast does offer other related products such as additional plugins and training courses.
For the remainder of this post, we’ll focus on the free version of Yoast.

- Page Preview — Get to see what your page looks like on Google’s SERPs once it’s published.
- Readability Score — Know if your page is easy on the eyes using the Flesch Reading Ease Score.
- Breadcrumbs — You can use breadcrumbs to help search engines crawl your site faster.
- No-Follow — Specify which links are no-follow. There’s even an option to mark sponsored links.
- Technical Tools — Yoast gives you access to robots.txt, .htaccess files, permalinks, and sitemaps. These tools are not easy to configure if you’re not a webmaster. But Yoast makes these accessible for most to use.
Do You Need Yoast?
In most cases, yes. It’s a safeguard against issues that could leave your whole domain unoptimized for Google.
And there are even instances when you’d need Yoast to apply the recommendations set by Moz Pro or other SEO tools.
Most WordPress users have an SEO plugin of some sort installed on their sites. And they also make use of SEO tools on the side.
Using both simultaneously will not affect your site as far as functionality goes.

Yoast will encourage you to add the keyword in your post, meta title, meta descriptions, and wherever else it sees fit.
You can’t do keyword research on Yoast so you’d have to use Moz. And you can’t make direct changes on your site through Moz so you’ll need help from Yoast.

Who Should Get Moz Pro?
Moz Pro is for anyone who’d like to develop an online marketing plan. It provides valuable data like keyword information and backlink analysis. It’s for marketers who need to explain to their clients or bosses what’s wrong with their SEO.
Who Should Get Yoast?
Yoast SEO if for those who need a way to manage their pages from within WordPress. Needless to say, if you’re an online marketer who doesn’t have direct access to the CMS, then you probably don’t need Yoast.
But if you’re using an SEO tool and need to implement some of the suggestions presented to you, having Yoast is not a bad idea.
